Growing your email list isn’t just about getting your hands on new addresses. Successful email acquisition strategies also focus on ways to retain current subscribers.

If you’re struggling to grow your list, the tips below may be of help:

Tip 1: Ensure you are communicating with current subscribers with relevant content and at the right frequency.

Tip 2: If many contacts are unsubscribing from your email communications, ensure you find out why this is happening and remedy it.

Tip 3: Use transactional emails. Any automated emails which are sent to prospects or customers when they buy a product from your website or submit a web form should contain a link directing them to your email sign up form.

Tip 4: Gain subscribers using offline methods. Events, exhibitions and seminars are good opportunities to do this.
