When planning your email campaigns always keep in mind that everyone is information hungry, but always in a hurry, making the amount of time that your recipients are willing spend reading your message limited. What is the best way to deal with this issue? I have added some tips below to help you.
Tip 1: Ensure that the most important message or main call to action is the first thing your recipients see when they open or preview your email.
Tip 2: Keep the text to a minimum, ensuring that recipients can scan through your message and see as much information as possible in a short time. You should always create links back to your website with more information. Email campaigns should be used to create interest and your website should provide the detail.
Tip 3: Vary your design / email template to keep your readers engaged. Using the same email template can result in some recipients losing interest in your communications. We recommend that you freshen up your design every 6 to 9 months.
Tip 4: Don’t send the same message to everyone in your database. Broadcast different messages to clusters of your contacts, ensuring that the content they read is relevant to them. This will increase open rates, click through rates and ultimately response rates and revenue.
Tip 5: Frequency. Don’t communicate with your readers too often! This can result in contacts becoming fed up with receiving your emails, which will negatively affect campaign open rates and unsubscribe rates. The recommended communication frequency depends on your business activity and the quality of your content, however, to be safe go for monthly email.
